JET SKI COSTA ADEJE
Guided jet ski rides and coastal safaris from Puerto Colón — a safety briefing, your own ski, and the volcanic coastline of Tenerife at 50 km/h. Every photo on this page is from our own ride.
Ten minutes at the marina cover the throttle, the kill cord and the hand signals. Then you're on your own machine behind the guide — nobody rides on the back of an instructor's ski here.
Out past the harbour wall the group opens up. The skis will do highway speeds over open Atlantic swell — how hard you push is up to you, and the guide keeps the group together at stops.
Safaris run the volcanic coast — lava cliffs, hidden coves and crystal water — with photo stops on the way. Resident pilot whales and dolphins live offshore here; some days they surface near the route, always on their terms.
Prices are per ski — a double ski for two costs only €10–30 more than riding solo. 40-minute rides and a 3-hour Los Gigantes epic exist too. Live prices and times on GetYourGuide.
None needed — guided rides count as supervised, so the briefing is your paperwork.
Drive solo from 16 with a parent signing; 18+ to carry a passenger. Kids from ~7–8 yrs and 1.30 m ride pillion.
Briefing, certified life jacket, fuel and insurance — and your own ski. Wetsuits in the cooler months.
Swimwear, towel, waterproof sunscreen, ID. Phones stay in the marina lockers — photo packages €10–30.
Puerto Colón marina (TF-1 exit 74; paid parking; many hotels walkable). Each operator has its own gate — check your voucher. Arrive 20–30 min early.
Year-round, water 18–24 °C. Mornings are calmest — best for first-timers. Rough-sea days are rescheduled or refunded.
No. Spanish rules allow you to ride without any boat licence on organised activities — marked circuits and guided safaris run by a licensed operator. You get a short safety briefing at the marina, then you drive your own ski behind the guide.
You can drive a single ski from 16 with written parental permission (signed at check-in — bring ID); to drive with a passenger on board most operators require you to be 18. Kids from around 7–8 years and 1.30 m tall can ride pillion on a double ski with an adult driving.
Prices are per ski, not per person. As a guide for 2026: a 20-minute circuit blast from about €60, a 40-minute ride around €75, the classic 1-hour guided safari €90–120, and the 2-hour safari €130–160. Two sharing a double ski typically pay only €10–30 more than one rider. Live prices are on GetYourGuide.
Yes — most skis are two-seaters, and the double price covers both riders. The driver takes the throttle, the passenger holds on behind, and on safaris with a stop you can usually swap over (the person driving must be 18+).
Maybe dolphins — these waters hold resident pilot whales and dolphins, and they do sometimes surface near the route. No honest operator promises sightings, and skis are required by Spanish wildlife rules to keep their distance. The famous El Puertito turtle colony is sadly gone — years of crowds and feeding dispersed it — so treat any turtle sighting as a rare bonus, not the plan.
Swimwear, a towel, waterproof sunscreen and dry clothes for after; bring ID if any driver is under 24. Handheld phones are banned on the water — lockers are provided at the marina — and most operators sell a photo package (€10–30) shot from the guide or support boat. A properly mounted action camera is usually fine.
Rides run year-round — Costa Adeje is the sheltered, sunny corner of Tenerife, and the water stays 18–24 °C (wetsuits are provided in the cooler months). Mornings are the calmest; wind builds some afternoons. If the sea is too rough, operators reschedule or refund, and GetYourGuide tickets typically allow free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead.
You should be comfortable in open water. You wear a certified life jacket the whole time and swim stops are optional, but operators expect basic swimming ability. Not recommended when pregnant or with serious back or neck problems, and combined rider weight per ski is limited (roughly 160–220 kg depending on the machine).
Live availability, live prices, free cancellation on most tickets.
